National Geographic (NatGeo) Solo Exhibition
This is especially for those of you who are going to be in Singapore or passing through Singapore from 3/April till 24/May 2009.
National Geographic (NatGeo) is hosting my solo exhibition at their gallery attached to their store at #01-19 VivoCity, 1 HarbourFront Walk. Singapore. The site is http://www.ngsingaporestore.com
Post this, in the latter half of this year, this exhibition would also be moving to their gallery in London. They are also discussing with me to exhibit some of my water photographs in their London Gallery during their Water Week from June 22 to 26th (though I still trying to figure out what is "water week"!!!)
As a nature photographer, I am thrilled at this recognition from the ultimate in nature photography. Do drop in if you are in Singapore during this time and buy the pictures for a worthy cause!!
Regards
Mahesh

About Mac ... from Mac
I am also working out my schedules with WWF to shoot their high altitude wetland projects in Himachal, Ladakh, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh. I am also working on trying to shoot some social initiatives in J&K and Arunachal which may result in another book. There are also a couple of other book projects I am working on, but with all the exhibitions the time frames have gone a bit haywire!

Mahesh believes that our planet will soon fall short of subjects unless we actively care for the environment. He is actively involved with the cause for environmental conservation and wildlife protection. Mahesh works hand-in-hand with NGOs and conservation organisations to create awareness about the People-Nature conflict and the need for balanced development. His work has been showcased by the WWF - both to conserve endangered species and to enhance environmental awareness. His dream is that for future generations, such awareness will not be taught but will be a way of life.
About The Book
from the Pubisher's site:
Let There Be Light explores the beauty of nature as captured through the lens of Mahesh Nair. Light, unquestionably, is the most critical component in most art forms, especially photography. By using light to dramatise and highlight the beauty of nature, these photographs paint a unique picture of the natural world around us.
The book, however, goes beyond showcasing nature’s beauty. It explores the meaning of light in the different facets of our life through the writings of eminent experts. The book journeys through the importance of light in artistic fields like cinematography, painting and dance to the meaning of light in physics and even eye surgery. Light has a great place in philosophy and this is captured in the related hymns from the Rig Veda. In essence, light as the giver and preserver of life on earth is brought out thematically in every page of this book.

Introducing Mac -- Mahesh Nair
Mahesh Nair (Mac) is a full-time photographer today. An engineer by education and the previous COO of BPO firm Spectramind, Nair discovered his passion by accident. He had a chance to shoot the famous Yellow Stone National Park. Mac says ”When I showed the photographs to people, the reaction I got was very encouraging and over the next one year — from 2004 to 2005 — I did shoots at several places and got completely addicted to it. I had two options. One was continue with the corporate life in yet another company, yet another start-up — maybe start up something myself. Or I could forget all about that and follow my heart. My heart won over the head."
This Blog strives to bring his vision and amazing possibilities he is opening up with his photography. For starters, here is a photo that was featured in The Hindu newspaper recently.
While his first coffee table book has been on the bookshelves of the major Indian bookshops, it is now possible to buy online for worldwide delivery. The link is
